Skin Type Analysis

Determining Your Skin Type

Determining your skin type can be confusing if you don't know what to look for, but it's essential to understand your skin type when selecting the right skin care products. Using the wrong products can exacerbate your skin issues, which is why finding the right products tailored to your skin type is crucial for maintaining your skin's health. If you're still struggling to determine your skin type or to find suitable skin care products after reading below, you can always consult your Esthetician or seek professional help.

The Four Skin Types

Normal

Combination

Combination

If you want to determine your skin type and find that you don't have many problems with your skin—it doesn't feel too oily or overly dry and tight—it's likely that your skin type is normal. Those with a normal skin type usually experience balanced hydration and oil production, fine pores, uniform luminosity, a smooth texture, and good elasticity, making skin care routines simpler and more effective.

Combination

Combination

Combination

If you are trying to determine your skin type and notice a combination of oily and dry areas, you likely have combination skin. Most individuals with this skin type experience moderate to high oil production, varying degrees of hydration, larger pores in the t-zone compared to the sides of the face, and a buildup of dead skin and oil. You may also find dry, flaking skin outside of the t-zone, oilier skin in the center of the face, and possibly some blemishes and comedones. Understanding your skin type is essential for effective skin care.

Dry

Oily

If you want to determine your skin type, and your skin feels tight, dry, and dull-looking, it's likely that you have a dry skin type. Individuals with dry skin typically experience low oil production and low hydration, which can result in small pores, a lack of luminosity, and rough, thin, tight, and even flaking skin. Proper skin care is essential for managing these characteristics.

Oily

If you want to determine your skin type and notice that your skin often appears shiny and oily, it's likely that you have an oily skin type. Individuals with oily skin typically exhibit moderate to high oil production, varying levels of hydration from good to dehydrated, larger pore sizes, a shiny look, comedones and blemishes, an uneven skin tone due to congestion, and the skin may feel thick and firm. Understanding your skin type is essential for effective skin care.
